Private trade show exhibit or an open concept trade show booth design, which is better?

Private trade show exhibit or an open concept trade show booth design, which is better?

There comes a point in the brand journey where you start to consider the difference between an open booth concept and a private trade show booth layout, after all you want to be inviting and open to all new business and prospective buyers to walk into your stand, but at what cost?

The brands that graduate to more of a private, closed trade show booth concept have spent year being exposed, and are starting to think about their copyrights, trademarks and ideas being leaked in advance of market release dates and exposure. The idea is that while brands start with a need for visibility, overtime they outgrow the idea and shift into more of a private stand to protect their intellectual property.

There's a moment where you suddenly realize that you're not longer desperate for business, and that protecting the ideas, and the release dates and inspiration behind your future products and services is more important than the random folks walking into your booth and taking pictures of products you are not ready to release yet.

This also goes without saying that, it can often take brands a few years to achieve this level of freedom, and in which case often times you have already established relationships with major buyers and customers, allowing to to focus on developing those relationships rather than just being dependent on walk by traffic at an event!

In this video we talk about the risk vs reward as we determine the trade show strategy, between having a private, closed off trade show booth design concept, versus more of an open and inviting trade show exhibit.
